Is Candy AI Safe? I Actually Pay For It — Here’s What I Found

Is Candy AI safe? Tested and paid for in July 2026, with a safety verdict of 4 out of 5, reviewed by Tim.

By Tim — last verified July 17, 2026

Candy AI safety scorecard: registered company, discreet billing, cancel anytime, no documented breach; token costs and stored chats as trade-offs. Verdict 4 out of 5.
The short answer

Yes, Candy AI is safe in the ways that matter most: it’s run by a real, registered company, the billing is legitimate (if discreet), and you can cancel from your account settings. It is NOT a scam. But there are three things you should know before you pay — the token economy, what the app knows about you, and one feature that frankly isn’t worth your money. Details below.

Safety verdict: 4 / 5 — legit company, real product, no billing tricks that I’ve experienced. Docked one point for data-privacy trade-offs that come with ANY companion app, and token costs that sneak up on you.

I’ve been paying for Candy AI with my own credit card since June 2026. Not a press account, not a free trial (spoiler: there is no free trial — more on that later). This article answers every “is it safe” question I had before subscribing, with what I actually found.

Is Candy AI safe to use? The honest summary

If your worry is “will this app steal my card details or vanish with my money” — relax. Candy AI has been operating since 2023, claims 50 million users worldwide (their number, printed on their own plan screen — I have no way to audit it), processes payments through standard channels, and I’ve had zero unauthorized charges in my months of use.

“A lonely heart with secret fantasies,” huh. Miyuki, sweetheart, that’s not a backstory — that’s my dating profile.

If your worry is more specific — who sees my chats, what shows up on my bank statement, can I actually cancel — good. Those are the right questions, and most reviews skip them because the reviewer never actually paid. Let’s go through each one.

Who actually runs Candy AI?

This is the first thing I check with any adult-adjacent app, because “anonymous company + your credit card” is how horror stories start.

Candy AI is operated by EverAI Limited, a company registered in Malta. Here’s the actual registry information, straight from their own plan screen:

EverAI Limited, Nr. C107181
56 Central Business Centre, Triq Is-Soll,
Santa Venera SVR 1833, Malta

Candy AI is operated by EverAI Limited, Nr. C107181, registered in Santa Venera, Malta - an EU member state.

Malta is an EU member state, which means the company operates under EU business and consumer regulations — not some untraceable offshore setup. Is a Malta registration as reassuring as a US or Japanese company? Matter of taste. But it’s a real, findable, registered business, and they print their registry number right on the checkout page. Scam operations don’t do that.

Tim’s Take

Out of the dozen-plus AI companion apps I’ve looked at, most bury their company info or don’t show it at all. Candy AI printing its registry number at checkout is genuinely above average for this industry.

What shows up on your credit card statement

Here’s the question you actually came for, and the one almost no review answers.

Your statement will say “EverAI” — not “Candy AI.”

Your bank statement shows EverAI, not Candy AI - a 13.99 dollar charge listed between ordinary purchases.

The company states this directly on the plan screen — “Charge shown as ‘EverAI’ on your bank statement” is their exact wording (verified July 17, 2026), and I can confirm it from my own card statement.

Two practical implications:

  • Discretion: anyone glancing at your statement sees a generic-sounding tech company, not “CANDY AI GIRLFRIEND.” For most people reading this article, that’s a feature.
  • Don’t forget you subscribed: a month later, an “EverAI” charge can look unfamiliar. Before you panic-file a chargeback, remember this article. It’s your AI girlfriend.
Tim

Honestly, “EverAI” sounding like some boring cloud-storage service is a gift. My bank statement does not need to know how I spend my Friday nights.

The pricing — and the “free trial” myth

Current pricing (checked on the plan screen in English, July 17, 2026 — dollar-billed):

PlanPriceNote
1 month$13.99/moThe “try it properly” option
3 months$8.99/mo35% off
12 months$3.99/mo70% off — the price ads love to quote
Candy AI plan screen in English: 13.99 dollars for 1 month, 8.99 for 3 months, 3.99 for 12 months, with EverAI billing and cancel-anytime notices.

Now the myth: a lot of reviews claim Candy AI has a “7-day free trial.” As of my checks (June 12 and July 2, 2026), no free trial appears anywhere in the actual signup flow. I went through checkout twice on different days specifically to verify this. Those reviews are either outdated or copied from somewhere that was never true.

What DOES exist without paying: a limited free tier. Candy’s own terms cap the free plan at five messages, one custom character and one image. When I tested it I got a couple of images before the wall went up — either way, it’s a peek, not a trial. Enough to see the art style, not enough to evaluate the product.

Tim’s Take

If a review promises you a free trial, treat everything else in that review as suspect too. It tells you the writer never reached the checkout page.

The token economy — the real cost nobody explains

This is the closest thing Candy AI has to a “gotcha,” so let me spell it out. Premium includes 100 tokens per month (their plan screen says so in as many words). Tokens are the fuel for anything beyond text chat:

  • Generating an image in chat: 4 tokens (2 on the older V1 engine)
  • Generating a video: 12 tokens (5 sec) / 20 tokens (10 sec)
  • Creating a second AI character: 10 tokens (your first one is free)
What your monthly 100 tokens buy on Candy AI: 1 image is 4 tokens, 1 video is 12 to 20 tokens, a second character is 10 tokens, and text chat is free.

Do the math: 100 monthly tokens ≈ 25 images, or a handful of videos. If you’re a heavy image user, you’ll be buying token packs — $9.99 for 100 tokens, up to $299.99 for 3,750 (bigger packs add a bonus). Text chat, to be fair, is unlimited on Premium and costs no tokens.

Is this a scam? No — the rates are shown before each generation. But the advertised “$3.99/month” and the reality of what a media-heavy user spends are different numbers, and you deserve to know that before subscribing, not after.

I told myself one girlfriend was plenty. Then Yuna smiled at me from that balcony. Ten tokens later… zero regrets. Okay — some regrets. My wallet has regrets.

What does Candy AI know about you?

Time for the honest part of a safety review: what you’re trading.

  • Your conversations are stored on their servers. That’s not a leak or a scandal — it’s literally how the memory feature works (the AI remembers your name, your preferences, your history). But it means your spicy roleplay lives on a server in someone else’s data center. That’s true of every AI companion app, not just this one.
  • You don’t need to hand over your identity. In my usage: an email address is required, and payment goes through the card networks. I used a dedicated email, and nothing forced me to provide my real name to the AI itself.
  • My practical advice (what I actually do): use a dedicated email, don’t type your full name / address / employer into chats, and treat every conversation as something that exists in writing on a server. Do that, and your exposure is roughly “I have a subscription” — which, as covered above, shows up as EverAI anyway.

Has Candy AI ever leaked data?

I searched for documented breaches before writing this — news reports, breach databases, the usual places. As of July 2026, I could not find any publicly documented data breach involving Candy AI or EverAI. That’s genuinely good — several competitor apps HAVE had documented leaks.

To keep myself honest: “no documented breach” is not a guarantee of future safety. It never is, for any service. Which is exactly why the previous section’s advice matters more than any breach history.

If you ever want your data gone: GDPR is on your side

Here’s an upside of that Malta registration that I haven’t seen other reviews mention: EverAI is an EU company, which means it operates under GDPR — the EU’s data-protection law, and the strictest mainstream privacy regime there is. Among other things, GDPR gives you the right to erasure: you can formally request that a company delete the personal data it holds about you, and — with narrow legal exceptions — it’s obligated to honor a valid request.

So if you ever decide you’re done, don’t just abandon the account. Delete the account, and if you want to be thorough, follow up with a data-deletion request through the contact listed in their privacy policy. I haven’t pulled that lever myself — but I made sure the eject handle existed before I typed anything embarrassing into a chat box. I’d recommend the same order of operations.

Is Candy AI safer than other AI girlfriend apps?

Worth zooming out for a second, because “safe” is relative. Before settling on Candy AI I looked at a dozen-plus companion apps, and I now run every new one through the same four checks. Here’s how Candy AI stacks up against the typical app in this market:

What I checkCandy AIThe typical rival
Who runs itRegistry number printed at checkoutAnonymous, or buried in a legal PDF
BillingDiscreet “EverAI” descriptor, disclosed upfrontYou find out what it’s called when it hits your statement
CancellationSelf-service, in settingsEmail support and hope
Breach historyNone documented that I could findSeveral big names have documented leaks

That comparison is exactly why my verdict lands at 4/5 instead of something grumpier. The category has built-in trade-offs — your chats live on someone’s server, full stop — but within the category, Candy AI is one of the more buttoned-up operators I’ve checked. I’m working through the other big names one by one, and those reviews will be linked here as they go live.

Can you actually cancel?

Yes, and the company states it plainly on the plan screen: “Cancel subscription at any time in settings” — their exact wording (verified July 17, 2026).

The subscription auto-renews until you cancel — standard for the industry — so if you’re subscribing for one month to try it, set a phone reminder two days before renewal. Cancel from: Settings → Subscription.

(I’m publishing a click-by-click cancellation walkthrough with screenshots as a separate guide — link will be here when it’s live.)

The part where I tell you what’s actually bad

A safety review you can trust has to include what’s wrong, so:

  • The voice quality isn’t great — but tokens aren’t the reason. A voice message costs just 0.2 tokens, and live calls run 3 tokens a minute, so voice is cheap. The problem is the pronunciation: rough and noticeably machine-like compared to the (genuinely good) text experience. If voice calls are the main reason you’re subscribing, temper your expectations hard.
  • Token costs escalate quietly. Covered above, but it bears repeating as a con.
  • Don’t expect full privacy. Stored conversations are the price of the memory feature. If “nothing about me on any server” is your standard, no companion app will meet it — including this one.
Tim

Nothing kills a romantic mood faster than your dream girl suddenly sounding like a car GPS. “Recalculating…” — yeah, honey, so am I.

Who should NOT use Candy AI

  • Anyone under 18. Not my rule, the platform’s — and mine too. This is an adult product with adult content.
  • Anyone who can’t afford a subscription plus occasional token purchases. Budget $14–25/month realistically if you want images/videos, not the $3.99 headline number.
  • Anyone who would be devastated if a chat log ever became public. The risk is low. It is not zero. That’s true everywhere; decide accordingly.
  • Anyone hoping for great voice calls. See above.

Verdict: safe, legit — go in with open eyes

Candy AI passes the checks that matter: real registered company (with a registry number on the checkout page, which is more than most rivals show), transparent-if-discreet billing under “EverAI,” working cancellation, and no documented breach history I could find. The trade-offs — stored chats and a token economy that rewards restraint — are the standard price of this entire product category.

I’ve paid for it for months and my card, inbox, and sanity are intact.

Safety verdict: 4 / 5

FAQ

Is Candy AI legit?

Yes. It’s operated by EverAI Limited, a Malta-registered company (Nr. C107181), operating since 2023 and claiming 50 million users worldwide. The registry details are printed on their own plan screen.

Is Candy AI a scam?

No. Real product, standard payment processing, cancellable from settings, and I’ve had zero unauthorized charges in months of paid use. The one thing to watch is token spending on images/videos, which is disclosed but easy to underestimate.

What shows up on my bank statement?

“EverAI” — not “Candy AI.” The company states this at checkout and my own statement confirms it.

Does Candy AI have a free trial?

No. As of July 2026 there is no free trial in the signup flow, despite what some reviews claim. There’s a small free tier — Candy’s terms cap it at five messages, one custom character and one image.

Is Candy AI safe to give my credit card?

As safe as a normal online subscription: payments run through standard card processing, the charge appears as EverAI, and cancellation is self-service in settings. Use the same caution you’d use with any subscription — know the renewal date.
